Recreating Movement

Tools for analyzing film sequences

Recreating Movement is a computer program for analysing film sequences and has been developed within a diploma thesis.With the help of various filters and settings Recreating Movement makes it possible to extract single frames of any given film sequence and arranges them behind each other in a three-dimensional space. This creates a tube-like set of frames that "freezes" a particular time span in a film. By using the keyboard the viewer can browse through the sequence of frames, chose any kind of view of the sequence of frames and influence the displayed frames directly via a displayable menu bar.

Aperture

Aperture is a facade installation with interactive and narrative displaying modes. Consisting of an iris diaphragm matrix, the facade's surface with its apertures' variable opening diameters is enriched by a dynamic translucency, that creates new imagery as well as a new channel for communication between inside and outside.

Interaction-Sequence

Reminiscent of motion photography as initially developped by Eadward Muybridge, the single phases of a movement—a person walking along the intelligent surface—the single phases of the movement are captured and displayed by aperture.

Na continuidade dos nossos movimentos não somos capazes de ter a percepção total do percurso do nosso corpo.
O meu projecto irá permitir que seja possível ver em tempo real uma Linha do Tempo que representa o processo do movimento.
Através de uma Webcam e de uma projecção, qualquer pessoa pode ter acesso à sua Linha de Tempo e mudar a perspectiva das frames captadas de forma a ver volumes simulados do seu movimento.
È um projecto de entretenimento que pode ajudar as pessoas a ter uma melhor noção sobre os seus movimentos.
